day 1:

a photo of yourself and a description of how your day was:

(sidenote: I am horrible at taking selfies.)

My Day:
Started: I was supposed to get up and go to the gym this morning...that did not happen. Work consisted mostly of calendar assembling, stapling, labeling, copying, visiting with a four year old friend and a book that belonged to my kindergarten teacher coming across my desk (whom I found out only retired a few years ago and this blew my mind because I thought she was old and grumpy when I had her SIXTEEN years ago. Also that that was sixteen years ago..) Then it was of to Dad's garage  which consisted of getting my oil changed and (trying to help) my dad do maintenance on my car. He is amazing. Going on a short (but delightful) run around my dad's neighborhood. And eating dinner with some family. Ending : with this blog.
Overall: Successful and healthier than it started.

(picture from my run. loved the sunset behind the mountains.)
(I am kind of a freak for taking pictures of the sunset these days)

Made it through day one, here's to tomorrow:]

July 8, 2013

here's to tomorrow..

So I decided to re-do and re-instate my blog. I started this blog when I went away to school because a dear friend asked me to and it was how we (at a glance) kept up with each others lives. Well since then it has changed into to many different things (and many a times been completely neglected). But I have decided that I need something of an outlet and this seems to be the perfect place. I don't believe that many people, if any, will really look at it much less read it..But I have put the link back on my facebook page so it should not be too difficult to find or access. So there's that.
In light of that I have decided to do a silly 30 day challenge to hopefully encourage myself to post..
I am not always the best at challenges but I will try..
here it is:

If you are reading this, then you have already made it further into supporting me than I expected anyone to:]
It will start tomorrow, hope your's is sunny.

smooth...

I keep telling myself I am going to write a blog about the adventures of running..but instead I made a smoothie and would like to record the impromptu recipe I used just in case I would like to recreate it..
PB&B SMOOTHIE
Recipe:
1 1/2 frozen bananas (it would have been 2 but 1/2 fell on the floor)
3 overflowing teaspoon sized scoops of peanut butter
1 overflowing teaspoon sized scoop of Nutella
1 overflowing teaspoon sized scoop of honey
1 squirt of chocolate syrup
6 ice cubes
3 splashes of coconut milk

Result: it was delicious (made better of course in a jar with a pink straw) and I have the rest for breakfast tomorrow.

I'm feelin' twenty-two..

for just a few more hours.
kissing twenty two goodbye with one of my favorite past times..
baking while listening to my Elvis/Sinatra pandora station and dancing around the kitchen like a fool.
Of course the typical happened: Molly has little white (flour) dots all over her and my apron has chocolate stains.
I am not sure I am ready to be twenty-three but here we go;]
PS. Not so new but revived dream: open a bakery that helps feed the hungry.

my lately..

I have been trying to run every day, or at least five times a week.
and because of that I eat what ever I want, when ever I want and I think...
needless to say it has not had the desired effect because of that mind set.

my wonderfully thoughtful mother bought me these beautiful bright and happy TOMS..
do not be surprised if I wear them EVERY single day.
Lastly, summer is quickly approaching and that can only mean one thing: BASEBALL!
I am not sure if I have ever been a bigger fan than I will be this year!
I love the diamondbacks.
In particular, PAUL GOLDSCHMIDT.
However, I might have a close second with AJ Pollock.
Also: a new second job, lovely weekends, interviews, upcoming getaways, bubble run, birthdays and the summer heat are all just around the corner..

March 26, 2013

sun. run. fun.

 (the hair is growing)
and it is a beachy mess which can only mean, summer:]

Here in Phoenix it is just about summer season.
The familiar heat has started to set in and come this time next month it will be scorching.
I can't wait for the tan (that the first day of spring break has allowed me to jump start) and the beachy hair and the warm nights and the sunshine. With the temperature going up so has the distance I run..which the heat will make more and more intense..
My life is still full of uncertainty and I have that aching feeling that I should be starting some sort of a grownup job...but the idea of summer just makes me want to get a job that finally puts that bartenders license I got into action...
