Party Prep.

We have been preparing for my nephew's very first birthday party all day. Rainbow cakes have been baked, colored balloons blown up, and goodie bags filled. We have got quite the day ahead of us tomorrow but for now it is bed time. And I am sure loving this Toy Story bedding I was hooked up with:]

throwing in the towel.

or in this case the silly blog challenge..
I am sorry to disappoint but I am giving up.
I realized a view things tonight:
One. This silly little blog challenge after about a week has already accomplished what I wanted it to. (revamping my blogging) and Two. It has become a chore instead of an outlet because I feel stressed to complete it every night. and finally, Three. It is just silly and I would rather try to keep my blog post, although not daily, about things that I find to be of (at least slightly) more significance.
So, I apologize to anyone (I am sure there is no one) who is disappointed by the fact that I am giving this up, but I realized it just wasn't what I should be spending time thinking about.

Also just a warning: for awhile (like until the end of February) there will probably be mostly running stories on here.. I had a plan session with a fellow Disney Princess Half  Marathon Runner this evening and it seriously just makes me giddy. I am so excited:]

Anyway, here's to tomorrow. Or next week. Or whenever.

day 8:

a song and photo to match your mood:
SONG:
(honestly I was sitting here trying to figure out what my mood was and I couldn't quite make a decision. So I put on Pandora and this song came on and I think it is perfect.)

I did this on my phone for the first time. Hope it worked. Here's to tomorrow:]

day 7:

your dream wedding:
(here is your warning: this is going to be a rant. turn back now.)
I need to preface this with three things: one, I love weddings, I really do. and two, I am not as cynical as I sound, this is just something that bothers me. and three, please if you have planned your wedding do not be offended, to each his own. That being said, here we go. . . I do not have a dream wedding. How could that possibly be possible? I am not in a serious committed relationship and thus do not spend my time thinking about a hypothetical scenario in which I would be getting married. This is exactly the problem I have with pinterest (which I am making strides on because there are wonderful ideas on there.) I cannot stand it when a female (or male, although I have never met any that do this) plans her wedding and has all these ideas about what she wants when she is not even in a relationship much less engaged. How can you do that? How can you plan a hypothetical day with a hypothetical person whom you may not even have met yet and God forbid you may never met? What if you plan to have blue and yellow as you colors only come to find out when you do met that person and do start to plan they hate those two colors? Or decide you want peonies but find out they are allergic to them? Want lace and find out he hates lace because it reminds him of his mean old great aunt? What if you fall in love with a Jewish man and he has to have a traditional Jewish wedding? Time completely and totally wasted. Isn't a wedding all about the combination of two people? How can you plan the whole thing when you don't even know anything about the other half of that equation? I know, I am a freak because I did not spend my childhood planning my dream wedding, don't get me wrong I wanted to get married eventually and in my young adult life when (the few times) I have gotten close to someone and the idea that we could some day get married has come up I have given it a quick thought. But that was it, a quick thought, because I knew that other person and thought about for a moment what a day would be like that combined the things we loved most. BUT, I never planned it and looking back now, good thing I didn't. I guess my major problem is that I don't like that weddings turn into something all about one person (the bride). I believe it should be a celebration that displays who you are as a couple and what your likes together are. So, all that being said, I guess I do have a dream wedding; that it is a day that perfectly displays who me and my hypothetical future spouse are as a couple. and that the stress is limited and the happiness is overflowing.

(if you read all of that, I am impressed.)
sorry for the rant and again I might have cheated but, here's to tomorrow:]

July 14, 2013

day 6:

a photo of an animal you'd love to keep as a pet:

(polar bear, duh.)
(I am assuming this is a hypothetical scenario where the polar bear would not try to eat me.)

day 5:

a photo of yourself two years ago:

(June 2011. Not much has changed..)

day 4:

(so I might have failed. I missed a day and I am not really sure how these things work or what that means but I am going to post it anyway. Also I don't believe I have a very large (if one at all) audience, and I don't think anyone will mind.)
your favorite photograph of your best friend:
(also I am cheating because I have two and they are of my best friendS.)
(high school graduation 2008: I love this picture because the four of us really did not become super close until the summer after high school and this picture seems to foreshadow what was to come.)

(Chicago for my college graduation 2012: I love this picture because it seems to fit our friendship perfectly. And it reminds me of such a happy time.)

day 3:

your favorite store:

This one is interesting...I am not sure what my favorite physical store is...
(although I love Trader Joes and used to spend way too much at Ten Thousand Villages).
But I love shopping and spend more than I should on TOMS.
I fell completely and head over heels in love with TOMS SHOES (and had quite the crush on Blake too) back when I first heard about it in 2008. (how I heard about TOMS is a good story too for another time and place.) Before TOMS I had never heard of a company that gave back in such a direct and wonderful way. I do still believe that TOMS really paved the way in that form of business and I love it. Since my personal discovery of TOMS to today I have owned over 12 pairs (currently the proud owner of 7 pairs) was a campus representative at two colleges and hosted multiple TOMS awareness events and will continue to purchase them as long as I am walking (or have friends and family who are walking).

I love TOMS with all my heart and sole.

I hope my answer was not cheating...here's to tomorrow:]

day 2:

a picture of something you ate today:
(lunch)
(which between the two jobs was had at two in the afternoon. thus being the only real meal I had today.)

That was easy, here's to tomorrow:]

July 9, 2013

day 1:

a photo of yourself and a description of how your day was:

A Photo:
(before work)
(sidenote: I am horrible at taking selfies.)

My Day:
Started: I was supposed to get up and go to the gym this morning...that did not happen. Work consisted mostly of calendar assembling, stapling, labeling, copying, visiting with a four year old friend and a book that belonged to my kindergarten teacher coming across my desk (whom I found out only retired a few years ago and this blew my mind because I thought she was old and grumpy when I had her SIXTEEN years ago. Also that that was sixteen years ago..) Then it was of to Dad's garage  which consisted of getting my oil changed and (trying to help) my dad do maintenance on my car. He is amazing. Going on a short (but delightful) run around my dad's neighborhood. And eating dinner with some family. Ending : with this blog.
Overall: Successful and healthier than it started.

(picture from my run. loved the sunset behind the mountains.)
(I am kind of a freak for taking pictures of the sunset these days)

Made it through day one, here's to tomorrow:]

July 8, 2013

here's to tomorrow..

So I decided to re-do and re-instate my blog. I started this blog when I went away to school because a dear friend asked me to and it was how we (at a glance) kept up with each others lives. Well since then it has changed into to many different things (and many a times been completely neglected). But I have decided that I need something of an outlet and this seems to be the perfect place. I don't believe that many people, if any, will really look at it much less read it..But I have put the link back on my facebook page so it should not be too difficult to find or access. So there's that.
In light of that I have decided to do a silly 30 day challenge to hopefully encourage myself to post..
I am not always the best at challenges but I will try..
here it is:

If you are reading this, then you have already made it further into supporting me than I expected anyone to:]
It will start tomorrow, hope your's is sunny.
