I'm feelin' twenty-two..

for just a few more hours.
kissing twenty two goodbye with one of my favorite past times..
baking while listening to my Elvis/Sinatra pandora station and dancing around the kitchen like a fool.
Of course the typical happened: Molly has little white (flour) dots all over her and my apron has chocolate stains.
I am not sure I am ready to be twenty-three but here we go;]
PS. Not so new but revived dream: open a bakery that helps feed the hungry.

my lately..

I have been trying to run every day, or at least five times a week.
and because of that I eat what ever I want, when ever I want and I think...
needless to say it has not had the desired effect because of that mind set.

my wonderfully thoughtful mother bought me these beautiful bright and happy TOMS..
do not be surprised if I wear them EVERY single day.
Lastly, summer is quickly approaching and that can only mean one thing: BASEBALL!
I am not sure if I have ever been a bigger fan than I will be this year!
I love the diamondbacks.
In particular, PAUL GOLDSCHMIDT.
However, I might have a close second with AJ Pollock.
Also: a new second job, lovely weekends, interviews, upcoming getaways, bubble run, birthdays and the summer heat are all just around the corner..

sun. run. fun.

 (the hair is growing)
and it is a beachy mess which can only mean, summer:]

Here in Phoenix it is just about summer season.
The familiar heat has started to set in and come this time next month it will be scorching.
I can't wait for the tan (that the first day of spring break has allowed me to jump start) and the beachy hair and the warm nights and the sunshine. With the temperature going up so has the distance I run..which the heat will make more and more intense..
My life is still full of uncertainty and I have that aching feeling that I should be starting some sort of a grownup job...but the idea of summer just makes me want to get a job that finally puts that bartenders license I got into action...

kicked in the teeth.

“All the adversity I've had in my life, all my troubles and obstacles, have strengthened me... You may not realize it when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you.” -Walt Disney

Heard back from the second, out of a solid fifteen, job I applied for.
It was another, "No, thank you."
Darn, I really wanted that one.

fairytales, princesses, the color pink, and things that sparkle.

My life lately has been pretty consumed with all things pink and heart shaped. I guess working in a preschool classroom in February will do that to you. But it has made me think. Recently one of the little girls in my class told everyone her favorite color was "sparkle." Another little girl showed me all the pictures she took with the princesses at Disneyland. And I love it. I think it is wonderful that these beautiful, innocent little beings believe that life can be pink and sparkle with love and that all the problems can be solved with the sweet love of another person. Imagine how wonderful the world would be if everyone believed like that..If we all believed, like an innocent little child, in fairy tales and loved our world and each other just the way they do. I think we would be much better off. But I have always been a believer in these fairy tales and the idea that there is a happily ever after out there for everyone and that love conquers all. I know there are a lot of harsh critics out there who think that is naive and silly but I truly think it is important for all children to believe in fairy tales and things that are sparkly and most importantly full of love. I can only hope that their favorite color will always be "sparkle" and that they will always see the world as the beautiful place they see it as now.

"We love because He first loved us." 1John4:19
